RAMICS utilises SMS (Simple Message Service) text messaging available with all mobile phone networks. If GSM or NextG coverage is not available, RAMICS can be fitted with a satellite data interface for those really remote places. Authorised users receive text messages to inform them of equipment status and conditions. Messages can be sent in initiate system operation, additional reports or test programs.
